Are you good at telling jokes?
Not really. I can tell a simple joke now and then, but I usually forget the punchline or rush it. My friends laugh politely, but I wouldn't say I'm great at it.
I wouldn't call myself a natural comedian, but I can deliver a joke if the moment's right. I try to pace the story and save the punchline for the end, and sometimes the timing lands well so people laugh. I'm more comfortable improvising a funny comment in conversation than doing a rehearsed routine, though.
I'm reasonably good when the joke grows out of the conversation, because I can read the room and adjust the timing. A rehearsed joke is trickier: if I overthink the set-up, the punchline tends to fall flat. So I wouldn't volunteer for a stand-up set, but among friends I can usually make people laugh without forcing it.
Do your friends like to tell jokes?
Yes, most of them do. A few friends tell jokes all the time and the rest join in. We often laugh together when someone says something funny.
Yes, my friends are quite jokey — there's a lot of playful banter in our group. A couple of them are natural storytellers who can crack a joke at any moment, while others prefer witty one-liners or gentle teasing. It makes social gatherings feel relaxed and lively.

I enjoy sharp dialogue and understated humour, where a character's reaction is funnier than the event itself. That said, after a demanding day I'm quite happy to watch something completely silly, because comedy doesn't always need to be clever to be effective.

Very much so, although audiences are increasingly fragmented. Traditional television comedies still attract families, while younger viewers often discover short sketches or stand-up clips online and then follow performers to live venues. That mix has made the scene more accessible, but it also means a comedian has to adapt quickly because humour that works for one audience may completely miss another.
