Are you good at memorising things?
I’m OK at memorising some things, like faces and places, but I find numbers and dates harder. I usually repeat things to myself or write them down. If it’s really important I put a note on my phone so I don’t forget.
I’m reasonably good at memorising things that I find interesting or that I practise regularly, such as names or routes. However, my short-term memory for random numbers or long lists is weaker, so I rely on techniques like jotting things down, using my phone’s calendar and repeating items aloud until they stick in my mind.
Have you ever forgotten something important?
Yes, I have. Once I forgot a dentist appointment because I thought it was next week. I felt bad and had to make a new booking. After that I started setting reminders on my phone.
Yes — a while ago I missed an important work meeting because the time completely slipped my mind. It was awkward and I had to catch up afterwards, so I learned to set at least two reminders and to check my diary each morning. That experience really changed how organised I am now.
What do you need to remember in your daily life?
In daily life I need to remember my keys, phone, work tasks and appointments. I also try to remember to pay bills and buy food. If I forget one thing it can make the day more difficult.
Everyday I need to remember a mix of practical things — keys, phone, appointments and deadlines — plus small routines like taking medication or paying bills on time. I try to keep a simple to-do list so I can prioritise tasks and avoid getting overwhelmed.
How do you remember important things?
I usually write things down or set phone alarms. For daily tasks I make a checklist. Repeating things in my head also helps sometimes.
I use a few methods: a digital calendar with alerts for important dates, short to-do lists for each day and visual cues like leaving things by the door. I also use simple memory tricks — for example grouping related items together — and I build habits so I don’t rely on memory alone.
