Yes — my favourite was my secondary school English teacher. She had a real knack for bringing lessons to life and made complicated ideas feel approachable. She encouraged us to think for ourselves, gave lots of constructive feedback, and often stayed behind to help anyone who was struggling. Because of her I started enjoying reading and writing much more.

Are you still in touch with your primary school teacher?
Not really. I don't keep in touch with my primary school teacher. I moved towns after school and we lost contact. I sometimes think about sending a message but I never have.
Not regularly, no. I lost touch after my family moved, although I did email her a couple of years ago to say thank you for her help. We exchange the odd message at the end of the year, but we don't speak often because we live in different places now.
In what way did your favourite teacher help you?
She helped me by giving extra help after class. I was shy and she encouraged me to speak up. She also explained grammar in a simple way and gave me more exercises to practise.
She helped me in several practical ways. Not only did she offer one-to-one support after lessons, she taught me study strategies like how to plan essays and revise effectively. More importantly, she boosted my confidence by praising small improvements and giving detailed, constructive feedback.
Do you want to be a teacher in the future?
I don't think I want to be a teacher full-time. Teaching seems hard and tiring. I might teach sometimes, maybe as a tutor, but not as a main job.
I haven't ruled it out — I think teaching is a rewarding profession — but I wouldn't want to be a full-time school teacher right now. I enjoy explaining things and helping people learn, so I could see myself doing some tutoring or volunteering in education alongside another career. The main drawbacks would be the long hours and the emotional responsibility.

Common mistakes to avoid

Teacher practice FAQ
How long should my answer be for Teacher in Part 1?
Aim for a direct answer plus a reason or detail, usually two to four sentences. Stop when the idea is complete rather than forcing a fixed word count.
Should I memorise the Teacher model answers?
No. Use them to notice structure and language, then answer from your own experience. Memorised wording can fail when the examiner changes the question.
What if I have no experience of the topic?
Say that honestly, then explain a related preference, observation or hypothetical example. You are assessed on language, not specialist knowledge.
